Welcome to the PARTICIPATE Democracy Summit 2023!

Organized by Political Participation for Greater Electoral Integrity (PARTICIPATE), the two-day PARTICIPATE Democracy Summit gathered democracy stakeholders to discuss, engage, and commit to advance greater citizen political participation that will lead to a strong, robust, and inclusive democracy.

PARTICIPATE is composed of the consortium of Ateneo School of Government (ASOG), La Salle Institute of Governance (LSIG), National Citizens’ Movement for Free Elections (NAMFREL), Caucus of Development Non-government Organization Networks (CODE-NGO), and Initiatives for Dialogue and Empowerment through Alternative Legal Services (IDEALS).

Commission on Elections (Comelec) Chairperson George Erwin Garcia will deliver a keynote speech on political and electoral reforms. This activity will be followed by a ceremonial turnover of alternative bills and recommendations on political and electoral reforms.

Organized by the Caucus of Development NGO Networks (CODE-NGO), in partnership with International Center for Innovation, Transformation and Excellence in Governance (INCITEGov), this session tackle challenges confronting civil society organizations (CSOs) and showcase experiences of non-partisan agenda building and trans-partisan campaigning in elections and post-elections.

Proposed Standards for An Alternative Automated Election System

Organized by National Citizens' Movement for Free Elections (NAMFREL), this session will present an alternative automated elections system with greater auditability and standards that support the principle of “secret voting and public counting.”

Organized by Youth Leadership for Democracy, in partnership with Hirayang Kabataan, this session aims to discuss youth political participation in local government mechanisms including avenues for participation, current issues, and possible interventions.
